Payroll multiplies decimal hours by a rate, but time cards show hours and minutes. Each chart below lists every minute for a given number of hours with the decimal value, plus pay at several rates. For minutes only (0-59) use the minutes to decimal chart.
The one-line formula
decimal = hours + minutes ÷ 60
15 minutes = 0.25, 30 = 0.50, 45 = 0.75. All other minutes are repeating or rounded decimals.
